Recently, Cell Phone, a TV play hits up. Just like that among a thousand readers, there will be a thousand interpretations of the character Hamlet, maybe you have your own opinion on each role of the TV. However, communication and trust crisis are what I want to talk about. Compared to the past, contact is easier and faster because of cell phone, but communication isn’t, at least between couples.
In the play, Yan Shouyi, a sophisticated TV program host wins the adoration and praise of audiences, but loses his marriage. In real life, many people meet the same marriage crisis as Yan. Communication between couples doesn’t work well. Lies often come on stage, especially and often on the phone. Wife becomes sneaky text checker and husband becomes liar. It seems that compared with face-to-face liar, liar by Cell Phone has little guilt. This is out of sight, out of mind, and out of heart as well.

When we were child, we rarely lied. We only could tell who was kind or unkind to us. When we grow up, we have our own thought system and gradually find we have differences with others. Barrier appears. When we leave school and enter the world, we learn to be social. We try to satisfy those we don’t like. We become another person little by little. It’s very natural that when Yan Shouyi comes to Wu Yue’s house, his cell phone rings. But he lies to his wife on the phone. The relation between Wu Yue and him is a little ambiguous, and phone call check strengthens it. It’s the convenience of communication that brings people burden. Secret appears owing to too much communication, and barrier begins to form owing to real-time contact. Couples linked by cell phone break up eventually. The problem can be said trust crisis of modern society.

That, after all, is not the problem of the solid material Mobile Phone , but people. Before we are honest to others, we must be honest to ourselves first. People speaking one way and thinking another can’t withstand the test of time. When the play ends, Wu Yue leaves without her cell phone, and Yan goes to a country of which language he doesn’t know to peruse temporary tranquility of mind.

As years pass by, truth and true feelings stay. Cell phone becomes tool and bridge of expression and communication only again, not catalyst of conflicts any more.
